Newsflash

We had a situation on 2/13 were a snowmobiler acting irresponsible riding off the trail at a high rate of speed, spinning the track tearing up the ground, young passengers not wearing helmets and it was apparent there were no registration stickers on the sled and obvious they are not members of any clubs. This person was basically trespassing and the landowner wanted the trail closed even though they were not riding on the trail system . Actions like these will get trails shut down. Please report this type of behavior by calling 911 and report it to the sherriff's dept. with as much detail as possible including location, sled type and registation number if you can get it. At least report it to one of the club officers with the same detail. This was in the Clarendon area on the property on the SW corner of 31A and Hibbard/Fancher Rd. This trail leads to the Clarendon Rec Hall and connects with the Snowdrifter's trail. This is the only way to Clarendon and if closed would take months to re-route. We have an obligation to the landowners to report and challange this type of irresponsibility. It only takes 1 or 2 of these types of complaints to ruin it for responsible riders. For now the trail remains open, but will be closed if it happens again.
